With the head/cam packages and the 4.10's are they streetable or could you use it as an everyday driver? Also what does your car feel like? A Raped Ape? LOL! Cause thats what I'm looking for. I'm border line right now between the head/cam package or the ATI procharger. I see that the ProCharger puts out more hp but it looks like Cartek runs a faster quarter mile. I don't drag at the strip but I like to race people on the street. Would this set-up be ideal?

I want to be able to be fast on the street and in the 1/4 mile plus keep it streetable or keep driveability. I would like to eventually be able to run 9's. My brother in law has a '67 Camero that he drag races at the track that runs 10's on just the engine. I think he is in the Super Stock category. He had been telling me about this bad azz C4 thats been at the dragway running 7's and its a street car.

Cartek 3X H/C w/410's in the Z & my car feels like I come out of a slingshot every time the pedal "NEARLY" and I mean "NEARLY" touches the floor.

:D By the way I drive it round trip to work & that's about 80 miles a day.

Good Luck with your decision if you H/C call Dave at Cartek.. You wont be disappointed.

Im a little biased but heads and cam is power that will always be there. With a supercharger you gotta worry about the belt slipping and if its making enough boost and all that crap plus it seems they only work on the dyno. My car runs mid 10s at the track with a stock bottom end and is crazy fast on the street. Its so fast that a brake upgrade would highly be recommended cause I can speed up a hell of a lot faster than I can slow down now.

I have their older 2X setup with 4.10 gears, making 456rwhp. I've put over 20k miles on this setup and drive it 70 miles a day round trip to work. I love it. Drives like stock until you get over 4k rpm, then it's INSANE. My car has destroy supercharged Cobras, a bolt-on GTS Viper, and an '04 E55 AMG on the street. Still get 30mpg on the highway too. Car has gone 10.9 @125 at Atco in less than idea conditions. The new 3X setup is easy mid 10s all day long.

I'm writing this from work right now, can't wait to drive it home in 1/2 hour. :)

i can say 1st hand its a RAPED APE !!!

if you lived near me id gladly take you for a spin.....

CARTEK has 6-7 head cam cars running 10.99 or better

i drive my car about 3 days a week in good weather and its very street friendly

the cam specs are not anywhere near as large as other tuners....less streetable pkgs

4.10s are the best gears for the 3x pkg and @ 75 mph its like 2200 rpms

check out my video below to see a 3x pkg run

Amazingly smooth is the cartek stage II. (listen to setup in soundbyte from my sig). Then again, the pcm on these cars is so good it just sucks up whatever mod you throw at it. The blower will create MAF limit problems and attack the low tension rings and ring lands with no mercy. (Disclaimer: I have not put a blower or turbo on a vette, but I have had several blown motors and that is my experience unless you add forged pistons/moly rings)

You knew this was coming Bill! ;)

Last year, Bill had me detail His black beast...and allowed me to drive it "HARD" with Him in the passenger seat. We cruised prolly 30-40 miles and the car drives EXACTLY like a stock car...no bucking, surging or carrying on. That's quite a package they have put together.

For another form of verification, last year...quite a few of us went to e-town to race, Bill included. He went on street tires, drove it the 250 mile round trip, ran several 12.0's@over 124 mph and then drove it home.

boblackhardtop...

Ummmm,
That's a built bottom end you are talking about, so he can really up the boost. Try doing that on a bone stock short block. Here is his sig:

Electron Blue 02 Zoooooooooo6
TPIS long tubes headers
Magnaflow X pipe
Star/spec stage 5 clutch
Forged bottom end
Aluminum flywheel
Borla stinger mufflers
CNC Truck heads
D1 Procharger stock 6 rib belt 730RWHP 638RWT

So I will need sticky tires. I just bought my CCW 505A's and Pirelli tires and I'm sure these are probley not the best set-up. So my question is what wheels and or tire packages would be best for the street with a head/cam package or supercharger? CCW street package? Any place have any good deals or cheap wheels? Also what type of headers are you guys using. I have shorties right now and I'm looking at Kooks and LG's. I can't decide because all the old forums I've seen on this topic always looks like they are split right down the middle.

with out a doubt the KOOKS HEADER are the best

at our last quick 8 shoot-out at e-town 6 out of 8 of the quickest vettes all had KOOKS HEADERS......that alone should tell you :yesnod:

as far as tires i have the ccw drag pkg for the track and for the street

i have the new bfg 18 in. drag radials which hook very well :D

I'm not going to post who but someone who responded to this topic told me on the phone if I went with the Cartek H/C package I would lose driveability.
They also said I wouldn't be able to drive it on a long trip so I should go another route. Thats one of the main reasons why I posted this topic. Now on this post they are all for Cartek. Kinda like someone is 2 faced. :nono:
