I remember when I first saw that claim. If you ever get close to that it will be at a speed well above 100 mph. I have the VaraRam as do many others, but it really seems to be most effective at 60 mph and above, by its own admission.
You will definitely not see 40 RWHP at any speed below 100 mph IMO. Best,
:iagree: it's worth the money. The car will perform better from the start and continue to build as you go faster. For the full 40hp gain, I agree you will have to be going well over a hundred. I have on my car, silver vert. Which filter do you have vararam or K&N.
I don't believe the 40-45HP numbers. But I have noticed a difference since I installed one. I decreased my 1/4 mile time by .4 when I put in the Vararam. It was also a cooler day, however, so I'm guessing the VaraRam is responsible for .1 to .2 of that increase. I think it is worth the money.
I am very happy with the VR on my car and I think it produces the best numbers. I wish it was this inexpensive to produce this kind of power all the time.
It was dyno'd in one of the corvette fever magazines and it produced 12-13.
I bought it because I like the concept and it had to be better that "sucking hot air" . No way does it do 40 hp, but I think its up there in the best 1 or 2 getting air into the system. even at 60-70 mph, it must do better than the black wing. It my not ram it, but it should flow better.
I have vararam, kooks, LS6 manifold, high flow cats, X-pipe and GHLs. Car runs like a champ!
