A4 fell on its face after a burnout?
I haven't had my C5 long. I haven't done many burnouts or hard launches, so I have some questions for you die-hard, tire torturing experts. :conehead
I usually drive like your mothers preacher, so I don't know if this problem is my bad methods, a problem or normal performance design.
When I did a burnout tonight, I stayed into the pedal until the tires hooked. I just let them scream. :D They hooked up at around 25mph (actual) and around 4000 rpm. The trans was about to shift to 2nd. When the tires hooked and the revs dropped, the nose fell flat, the A4 dropped back into 1st, letting the torque converter spin up for about 1.5 secs.
If I were on a track, I'd hold the brake and power up to the point where the tires almost spin before launching. But, how do I do a proper burnout without the nose dropping like a shot duck? :skep:

Torque Management..... something else to study about. I'm also not used to the C5's sophisticated computer management. I'm stuck in 70's technology experiences. I'm hell with a M22.
Its funny how sometimes my car pulls like its got an amourous ape behind it and at other times, it falls flat. I guess its programmed for survival.
I'll read up on LS1 edit and Diablo before the next wave of questions :D
Ok, ok, can't resist... would transgo make the A4 survive through more torque? or is it just a shift kit?
I see the benefits of both, who has done both, programming and transgo?

I have a 98, and am therefore stuck with either Hypertech PPIII or LS1 Edit. I bought the Hypertech because I did not like the stock shift points at all but was not ready for the intricacies of LS1 Edit. After reading threads, decided the 100% setting was the way to go, and it's a different car, really had fun at the drag strip. Since I have an extended warranty, will wait until 75K, then put in a Transgo.

I have never experienced what you are refering too. I did have my computer reprogrammed several times and I am sure TQ management has been changed. I also use a Line Lock when I do a burnout. I launch around 2500 rpms and run in 3rd.

Yep.
Sounds like the dreaded Torque Management.
