Default Good Idea?

Ok, Ive got a cam only car and I really need a set of heads to go with it. Ive tossed around the idea of buying some LS6 heads, then sending them off and having them ported, and just putting those on. Ive got the old school, original G5 cam, so I whatever heads I do go with I'll need to make sure they'll work with the cam after being ported. Would you do LS6 or just get a pair of heads (AFR, CARTEK, etc.) ? Ive also tossed around the idea of pulling the cam and doing a sawp to the G5X3 when putting on heads. Just let me know. Thanks.

Need more info on your present set-up, i. e. performance mods.

I have the G5X-3 (114) Cam Pkg. I can imagine there is a world of difference between the G5 & G5X-3. You live near LG Motorsports & have the G5, so I guess it is safe to assume LGM will be doing the Heads install. Maybe you should ask Lou for some suggestions. I believe LGM has some H/C Pkg. Specials right now.

Right now the present set up is as follows: Blackwing intake, LS6 intake, G5 cam, TPIS LT's. MTI off road x-pipe, dual cutouts, and tuned. Ive still got the stock clutch  so thats my first priority, but then Id like to break her down and do the heads and then possibly a cam swap
