I just finished installing my Blackwing on my '98 but I cant seem to get it fitted correctly. I think I got all the connections on like I should but I cant seem to get the grommets on the radiator shroud to line up with the air bridge. Ill post some pictures, maybe you guys can tell me if I did something wrong.
Oh, and while installing the filter I managed to drop the one part that it says specifically not to drop, directly into the motor. :banghead: Luckily, I eventually found it but it took some doing to get it out.
Oh, I tried to move the whole thing with my hands and noticed it wouldnt move much. I just wanted to make sure it wasnt something I did, odd how it fits differently on different cars.
The Blackwing on my '04 fits exactly how your photos show. I was breaking a mean sweat trying to make it fit perfect and even took it off and put it back on about 4 times. I gave up since it feels firm anyways. It won't fall off and I've had it this way for about 800 miles, no problems.
Many have this fit issue. I got lucky and mine fits flush, but I have seen some that don't even make contact with the posts and actually touch the hood liner when the hood is closed.
I would have thought by now Donaldson would have fixed this.
I have had the RK Sport twin flow for about 3 years now....haven't used the gromets (mine didn't exactly work either). Not an issue at all for me!

When I had my RM twin flow...sat flush here. I have changed my air bridge, it doesn't come close at all now :D
