About 3 weeks ago I installed Chrome Mallets & Pilots from Westcoast Corvettes... the wheel and tires came mounted and balanced. I drove the car for about 10 miles at various speed and everything felt fine. Now all of sudden I have a vibration in the steering wheel 70 & above. I have had the wheels balanced by 2 diffrent shops... the right front was out both times. However the vibration is still there.... I am frustrated at this point as I have spent many hours & $$$$ trying to solve this problem. I am not sure if the wheel & tires are damaged ? could it be the alignment ? :(

Did you get a road force number? Tires can be out of round from the factory and no amount of balancing will fix that. Any good tire shop will be able to measure that. Also be suspicous of a balance job that has the weights mounted on the outsides of the rim. In my opinion wheels as big as vettes need 3 dimensional balancing.

Do you still have the stock rotors on the car? If so, you need to remove those damn retaining clips that GM puts on during the assembly line process. They serve no purpose other than to hold the rotor on during the asembly line build. The stock wheels have cut-outs for them, aftermarket do not and that will give you a vibration/unbalanced feel at higher speeds.

Keith, thank I am running aftermarket rotors... Pewter buddy no luck still acting up :banghead:
:banghead: damn.........that is an annoying problem for sure. Theonly thing I can think of is bad balancing or bent wheel (or not completely round when built/cut.)..........or bad tire. It's hard to narrow down. Good luck...I know that can drive ya crazy....
