fuel gauge malfunction
Hey,
I'm crusin along with 1/2 a tank o fuel then outa the blue I got none........
Or so the DIC and fuel gauge says.
About 30 min later the gauge comes back?????? :confused:

I have been dealing with this for almost a year. At first I could swerve the car at low speed, as if I was cleaning the tires and the gage would start functioning again. Now I live with it until I get to a place to stop. Turn the engine off wait a few seconds and restart. It resets it's self and is good to go.Mine only occurrs at 2/3 's full or more. Leading me to believe it is a sensor for the top of the right side tank?? As prevelant as this has become, why hasn't GM had a recall???? :nonod:

Clear your codes - even on the fly, use BG44K and/or Techron fuel additive, Chevron gas, get PCM reflashed with GM fix for gauge, don't refill with more than 1/4 tank to encourage sloshing/scrubbing action of the fuel, reset the trip odometer each time you refuel - good luck! :thumbs:
