Anyone have a problem when switching from fresh air to recirculate? On cool morning I'd like to just open the vents rather than having the AC on, but I can't tell any difference in the two settings. No cool outside air comes in. Any ideas?
I do the same thing. But haven't tried the recirculate setting when using the vents. I only use recirculate with the AC on. I do get cool air coming in with it set to fresh air.
I'll try it tomorrow morning and let you know if I feel a difference.
I tried this today, while running an errand, and you are right there is no difference in air temp with either mode selected. I did notice that the air flow was greater with circulate selected, similar to when the AC is on.
I've noticed that even though the outside air is cool, I still get warm air unless I turn on the AC. However, when recirculate is on, the inside humidy increases noticably.

Yes. i think this is one reason it switches to fresh air if defog is on (at least in my 99 it does) and insists on it. IIRC, it pulls the recirc air from the foot area. So if your floorboard area is a little damp (wet shoes, etc) I could see humidity creeping up. The temp is little different (most noticeable at the "fringes"), but the volume of air is definitely less on fresh air.
