Recently I've been getting a flashing check engine light accompanied with a rough running engine for a few seconds under light acceleration, med-high rpm, low speed and lower gears (1st, 2nd). The engine begins to smooth out and the check engine light eventually goes out after a few seconds. Just an intermittent problem, and no associated codes. Any Idea whats going on? Thanks in advance.
The flashing light is indicating you've got a misfire happening, then as it clears up the light goes out. There's not a code associated with it, but if you have access to Autotap or something similar the PCM keeps a history of what cylinder the misfire is occurring at.

HTH, and have a good one,
Mike
Mike is correct. If you cannot get a scanner to see what cylinder it is happening to, definitely make sure your plug wires are on all of the way and not burnt. If that doesn't help and you are up to it, I would change the plugs and wires.
We just had a car in yesterday that actually had a broken pushrod (looked like it had been bent for awhile) that caused the problem.
It definitely helps to have a scanner to narrow it down for you!
