Default NEED QUICK HELP! broken plastic tube in engine compartment.

hey guys, just under the car and noticed a small (~1/8"OD), clear plastic tube coming out of the driver side of the transmission tunnel toward the engine compartment. it was broken (i assume) and just hanging there. it appears to be some type of vacuum tube as far as i can tell but i have no idea where it goes. does this sound familiar to any of you? tell me where this thing goes.
also, noticed that the hose from radiator to W/P is collapsed. is this normal when the engine is off?

Are you asking about your 81 or a C5? I don't recall seeing a clear tube on a C5, I could be wrong.

As the engine cools the cooling system should suck in air and not collapse your hoses, you have a stuck radiator cap or an old, weak hose. I think.

:iagree:
more than likely it's the cap on the coolant overflow tank

Change the overflow tank cap. I had the same problem on my car. The new cap is the same part number........but upgraded.

I would think the hose needs to be replaced as well - it shouldn't collapse :nonod:
