During the first H/C swap, if i remember correctly we dropped a valve-seat and destroyed 2 pistons and a set of heads. On this Motor The heads and Cam were installed and degreed by the Builder. We just dropped the motor...
Dam Alex your memory sucks! We never really found out what happened. Motor was fine one minute and next second dead. Put a valve through the piston though. I have some pretty bad luck.

hmm....blown head gasket???

Good luck.

20psi on the oil reading is not good under wide open throttle.

Just wondering, what happened during the H/C swap? I did a cam swap about 10,000 miles ago and have not had any problems since.

It actually got a higher than that Ryne must not have been able to see it clearly but it was deffinently lower that i expected I was thinking it would be close to 80psi like Rynes.

If you stomped on the motor in the first few minutes that should not have happened. Something was amuck with the engine and sounds like a poorly sealed headgasket for whatever reason. If the engine builder tries to back out of responsibility and you find that is in fact the problem, please post here. When users have just 1 unresolved problem with sellers, I do not use them ever again.

let us know how things come out.

yeah i am one of blackbelts closest friends, i was there for the H/C install, and the new engine install, i helped work on the whole time, i am almost as pissed off as he is, i feel the motor was built like crap in my opinion, oil was very low all the time on this motor,[/B] i am saying like 20-25 psi, at high rpm, [/B]where mine is almost pegged at 80psi at high rpm, i think he threw a rod in my opinion.
Gosh, if this was the case, I would have been on the phone to my builder before taking it up to 6000 RPM? I might have been keeping it parked until we got to the bottom of the oil pressure issue.

Well don't quit posting you may be able to get some help--I didn't hear the story about your H/C setup nightmare and I don't know where this motor came from but would like very much to know--Like you I built a new motor that started 1 1/2 years ago now and just when its finially tuned the gd computer fried and 3 more in the past week--we think we have it licked but will know in a week---I can certainly understand you being pissed I was rather sick of mine when it was towed away again yesterday so I pissed away about 40K in the last 18 months and have yet to enjoy the results, it was not the fault of any of my guys but just one problem after another starting with an ARE shortblock that took 8 1/2 months to get here living on bs promises week after week etc--now I have to do some pvc work cause its sucking more oil than gas so I wish I had kept it simpler--if things don't change soon I am going to take my lumps and look at a new GTO and do a more moderate build on it--good luck and I can only imagine how pissed you are---(I am 5th degree Ishinryu-2nd degree Shotokan--1st degree Taeknowdo and have a few sashes King Rhee, white leopard etc and some time spent with Brazilian Jujitsu--so if beating the s#$@ out of the car would do any good I would already have it sitting up and begging for doggy treats)

Like I had said it was actually higher than that Ryne probably just didn't see it probably because when he went in my car i didn't really get on it and when i did it was probably hard to see clearly. But as he stated it was much lower than expected.

You can buy a new LS6 long block for around 5k from GMparts direct. Might be worth looking into. Good luck hope the engine builders stand behind their work.
