Default WCC's Hurricane Intake System??

I tried this over in the gen. discussion section without any luck so thought I would try here.
Has anyone tried this intake on their car or know anything about it such as performance gains, installation, or any information you could tell me about it?

Thanks in advance.

It looks very similar to the blackwing. I have it on my car. It was installed with a bunch of other mods so I can't really say what affect it had, although it was installed last and the car went from 374rwhp to 403rwhp

I just ordered it as well. WCC's told me that this design was an improvement over the voretx. It's just their version of it. Personally I believe that most of the high end air induction system gain about the same hp/tq. This seems to be easier to install than the vortex because there is nothing to cut, just replace the shroud. Breathelss Performance charges 80.00 alone for their pre-cut shroud and they have a smaller filter.

I just bought it yesterday and I couldn't wait until the weekend so I got started on it at 6pm last night and finished up at 10 pm. I would have finished a lot earlier, I basically ended up installing it twice because of the incorrect/not complete directions.

I have an 04 Coupe, and the directions do not mention anything about two extra screws (one on each side) on the stock shroud that need to be removed. The center spring loaded spoiler is in the way of these two screws so you have to push it up out of the way with one hand and undo the screws with the other. (These screws are different than the other 5 holding the bumper skirt on to the shroud so do not confuse them. Save the screws, you will need to use them to install the Hurricane shroud (again no mention of these screws).

Now the fun parts, missing directions about screws is childs play. The push pins that hold the stock shroud on SUCK and you have to use them again to hold the Hurricane on. The Hurricane is wider than the stock shroud, so you have to tweak the Hurricane to get it on the push pins. TAKE NOTE: once you get it on the push pins have someone hold it there and go under the car and connect it with the two screws I mentioned above. Do not tighten them all the way down but get them snug, because if its too tight you won't be able to tweak the Hurricane shroud to get the rest of it together. And if its too loose it will pop off of the push pins and you get to begin the WHOLE process again from the beginning of the installation of the Hurricane.

Also a HUGE missing part of the instructions is the hose connected to the side of the stock instake (drivers side), the Hurricane has no place for this tube to reconnect to. They provide you a filter for the end of the hose (I would ASSUME the filter goes on the end of the hose), but what and where am I suppose to connect the hose to?????

If any one knows please advise about the hose and the connection its suppose to make. I ended up just tucking next to the shroud. Its ghetto if you ask me.

Good luck with your install and let me know how it goes. I HOPE I got it all together and secure so I will run it today to see what I get out of it.

Will I be able to notice the estimated 35 hp more? Faster off the line? Faster quarter mile? Higher top end? Better gas mileage? Please advise if you know for sure (I'm new to the mods of a car, and don't really know too much about this stuff. Learning curve for me)

WCC Hurricane intake was one of the first mods I did to my stock 01. The system was fairly easy to install. the air pump hose only needs to topped off wit a filter. After the install the improvement was pretty noticeable. the stock airbox is very restrictive. I would recommend the hurricaine over other intakes I've seen. It not only works but looks cool to.
