Bad Door Lock Actuator?

Bad Door Lock Actuator?
I'm thinking my door lock actuator is bad. It will unlock the door, but it will not lock the door. Doesn't matter if I'm using the remote or the button on the door panel, same with the door open or closed. Anybody ever hear of one going bad in only one direction? 
I just wanted to check and make sure it's not some setting I can change before I go pulling the door panel off. I've only had the car a week and it has always been this way...

Yes, I have the identical issue. It could be the actuator itself, but in my case (and many, many others) it is the DBCM that has failed. It's a 300 dollar part. There are numerous archived threads explaining this issue in detail.

What is it? I'll do a search as well.
I notice you race, do you know Perry Melnechec (sp) of RPM? I run at Jennings and have alot of friends in WERA and CCS.

My '02 has the opposite problem the passengers door will never unlock....

Replaced Both Door Lock Modules On My 02 Coupe
My driver side door lock module was replaced at about 5K miles because it would lock but not unlock. Same exact problem fixed last week on the passenger side at 10K miles.
