I'm thinking my door lock actuator is bad. It will unlock the door, but it will not lock the door. Doesn't matter if I'm using the remote or the button on the door panel, same with the door open or closed. Anybody ever hear of one going bad in only one direction? I just wanted to check and make sure it's not some setting I can change before I go pulling the door panel off. I've only had the car a week and it has always been this way...
Yes, I have the identical issue. It could be the actuator itself, but in my case (and many, many others) it is the DBCM that has failed. It's a 300 dollar part. There are numerous archived threads explaining this issue in detail.
My driver side door lock module was replaced at about 5K miles because it would lock but not unlock. Same exact problem fixed last week on the passenger side at 10K miles.

Same exact problem on my '02 driver's side door, need to get it fixed under warranty....
Happened on my brand new 04. I gave the lock a good hit on outside of door panel above lock plate and it has worked ever since. Hope the cures your problem. Good Luck.>George
