I changed my rotors yesterday and that damn spring fell out on the drivers side Parking Brake (it is inside the brake shoe). It was a bitch gettign it back in......especially getting it to hook to those 2 spots and keeping it hooked.
Anyone ever have this happen? What does that spring do for the PB?
I THINK I got it back on .........................if it isn;t what would be the signs?
Yup,they are a pain The spring simply holds the parking brake shoe in place against the backing plate, keeping the shoe from dragging on the rotor.
Any key to making sure it is in place? I think I got it. But when you try and put it under that damn "hook" the other pops out. So I got one under the "hook" and I was hoping that when it was back in place it would automatically push it up against the area and when applying the PB it would seat itself..........
Interesting. Which one did you use? Re-looked at it. On the C5 disc brakes the retaining spring for the parking brake (which is a small drum brake) is sort of concealed and no way of getting to it....or getting the spring that is. Hard to explain.
