well, I got these on a gp about 18 months ago here on the forum. With the swaintech coating. Both sides cracking on the mounting tabs and just around the collector. Black soot collecting through the cracks.
Is this normal? I waited almost 4 months before I actually installed them, so I'd say they've been on the car for 14 months and maybe 12,000 miles.
I'm going to have the tabs removed and weld the cracks together. Seems like the cheapest option as opposed to seeing if stainless works will warranty them and having to pay removal/install charges. I hope to have some digital pictures by this weekend.

They have a lifetime warranty and Al Noe is a great guy.
I'd suggest at least talking to him first before proceeding with another course of action.
If you let someone else play with them, SW may not take responsibility for the problem. Please keep us informed, they are on my final three list and this is the first I have heard of a weld problem with their product. Curious if the coating could have been the cause of the problem.
