Jeep

Recommend that you clear all of the codes and take it for a ride to see if any return. Sometimes the code that pop up are random and won't come back.

What do you mean when you say your car runs bad? Please elaborate on symptoms and when they happen. How many miles do you have and what mods are installed?

The recommendation about checking the area under the battery is a good place to start! I would remove the inspection pannel in the wheel well and see what the PCM and wiring harness looks like!

All of this info will help get you back into the fast lane!

The car will not go into 1st, even will put into 1st. Takeoffs are in 2nd. Car seems to be missing. Was going into 3rd, but now it seems not too.
Disconnected the batt for 20 min. Drove around the block, samething.Check engine light came back on. Car seems stuck in 2nd.
After all that is when a ran the codes again. Those are the ones posted. They are the same as before.
Thanks for any help.
I have had the Optima batt in the for over a year. When I install the batt eveything look clean. I did not dig to deep.
Good ideas about inspecting the PCM.
Could this be vacume related?

For a transmission not to be able to shift into gear when the engine is off most likley has internal componet damage. Drain the fluid and inspect it for damaged parts and excessive metal particles. I would check the clutch fluid, change the fluid if it is nasty black and bleed the slave cylinder. If you have been starting off in 2nd a lot your clutch is more than likley toast.

As for the engine miss, the most common cause for this is a BAD plug wire/wires. Recommend that you pull each wire off one at a time and read them with an OHM Meter. They should read between 250- 450 Ohms. While you have them off, check the boots and wire outer jackets for damage and clean them. Use silicone dialectric grease on the boot ends.

If you have not changed the spark plugs yet, now will be a good time to do that. When you have the plugs out, the cylinder that is missing will be easy to identify. Remove the plugs ONLY when the engine is COLD!!!

It a automatic trans.
New plugs and wires put on in Jan.
Car was running great. Pulled out of a parking lot seemed fine. Pulled on the highway and she started in 2nd, then sifted into 3 rd.
By the time I got home seems to just stay in 2nd.

go check fuse 16[pcm,fuse block under the hood].this fuse powers up your purge valve, vent valve, secondary air relay, etc.your trans is starting off in either 3rd/4th[failsafe]your tranny's valve body solenoids don't have any power, that put's it in failsafe.check this fuse before you overhaul your car.jmo

Car is running like poopie. Here are the codes.
P0412
P0418
P0443
P0449
P0740
P0753
P0758
P1860

Help
Which of these codes are follwed by an "H" and which are follwed by a "C" or "HC"?

If it's just the transmission related codes then you obviously have a transmission related problem but since your car wants to start off in second gear it may be something as simple as a 1-2 solenoid which can be changed easily
