Service Traction Control code...
Spun the tires a little tonight coming out of a corner. The Vette threw me a "Service Traction Control" code in the DIC. Then it didn't come up on the next startup. Is this normal? I was in Competitive mode, but I found it odd that it would throw a code for spinning the tires. It lit the ABS light and the Traction Control light.
My Firebird would throw the ABS light when I'd corner and brake hard, but then it went away. Is this a similar behaviour? Ie., does it throw the code during the activity, then let it slide? I'd figure that in Comp driving mode it would ignore such things.
I guess I'll call the dealership on Tues and find out if I need to bring it in. What do you guys think?
Thx

My dealer stated " A,, I dont think GM intended the car to be driven like this!

I'm not going to say anything to the dealer except that I threw a code while taking a turn. I'm going to go inspect the all the codes and see if it's still current. Then I'll clear em and keep an eye on it.
Thanks,

Anyway, the code I threw was C1226 Excessive Wheel Speed Variation. This makes sense because I chirped the tires coming from a stop while turning onto a street.
I've cleared all the codes and will drive for a while to see if it throws the code again. It was a history code even though it happened last night, so it's not even intermittent at this point.
Still, I find it odd that it would throw a code for spinning the tires, and then flash all these lights and warning messages in my face. This was my first code since I got the car, so I'm assuming they all flash and repeat like that. But what do they think we're going to do in this car, get groceries and drop the wifey off to go shop? Hell no. The tires will spin again I can promise you. I hope it doesn't throw a code every time!
Thx
