Default Who makes some ceramic coated headers for vettes?

I was planning on going w/kooks, but noticed they weren't ceramic coated. I will probably still go w/them, but I was wondering if anyone noteworthy makes ceramic coated headers. Thanks--Andy

You could just buy a set of Kooks and have them sent to Jet-Hot to be coated.

Check with them for more info and to see what it will cost: http://www.jet-hot.com/

FLP's and Bassani's are coated. I would go with the stainless myself.

I have the coated TPIS headers... they have been on the car for years and I have had no problems with them.

I have the coated FLP's - very happy with them. I did have Random Tech make up a 3" inlet 2.5" outlet high flow cat, better than the 2.5" in and out that comes with the system IMO.

Get them coated to help prevent o2 sensors codes.

Why would coating them prevent O2 sensor codes?

Probably due to the heat being retained in the pipe keeping the temps high for the sensors...I have LGM's uncoated and have had no code issues...

Jason, so all the kooks come coated? I thought they were just stainless steel. Or are you guys coating them yourselves?

My coated TPIS's looked like junk after a year.

So I had some stainless Kooks installed. They don't come coated though, but uncoated stainless is better than coated mild steel IMO.

The Kooks stainless headers don't come coated, but Jason can get them coated for you. That's what he did for me. I couldn't be happier with them.

Jet Hot will be offering coated C5 headers very soon. I have a set of their prototypes, but have not installed them yet.

Now that stainless steel is the norm on header systems, many had opted not to ceramic coat them since SS is thicker and more corrosion resistant than mild steel, which was the one used before (TPIS, RKSport, FLPs, etc.)

As of yet, I have not seen proof that ceramic-coating will improve HP or will it improve exhaust gas scavenging (in theory, it will) but it will definitely make your headers look better after a long time.

If you must have it, have it coated yourself. I went with Matt G's GP with Stainlessworks and had it shipped to Swaintech for their ceramic treatment on the longtubes. I know that Xtreme is close to JetHot so you might find a deal with them, ask Bill/Mike.
