Has anyone installed an airbag shutoff switch. I have a 98 that does not have the switch. Newer models do have them (not sure what year they started installing them). Fichtner Chevrolet has a kit at this link: http://temp.corvetteforum.net/c5/ken...rtspage3.shtml
Just wondering if anyone has installed one of these and how difficult it is to install???
If you do a search on here you can find directions on how to do it. I called around to a few dealerships where I live and received two types of responses. Either they wouldn't do the job due to liability issues or it was going to cost me $600-$700 to install a part that costs $100 from Fitchner's Chevy. Guess my kids aren't riding in the car until they're a bit older.

I too have a 98 and an 8 year old son. I bought a solution from an organization that sells cutoff switches for around 400 bucks including installation, no matter where you live. No dealer in Nashville would talk to me about putting in a switch. I could have done it myself, but wanted someone who had done it before, figure 200-300 bucks extra is worth peace of mind when it comes to the boy.
