I really like the FLPs. The only thing I would change is to make them out of stainless although mine look as good as the day I installed them 2 years ago. The best feature is the ease of reconfiguration. The performance boost is great also and is typical of comparable systems on the market.

The quick-change setup allows one to swap the cats for orp's in minutes or just makes it easy to work on the exhaust or other areas. When I recently installed cutouts, I was able to drop the x-pipe in just a few minutes to get at that section to install the components I needed to on the workbench.

Since I bought these, a lot of other systems have come out. I've helped install LGMs, Kooks and Stainless Works sytems and all are great setups. But none of those have caused me to switch yet. The configurability and quick-change flexibility of the FLPs is, IMHO, still the best.

Hey Patches what did that cut out install run you? That looks sick... In the best way!

You happen to have any sound files.

Patches,

Photo's look great! I'm new to this, and don't know all the acronyms yet "FLP" is a manufacture? Where did you purchase them? You had the X-pipe coated or it came with the cats and FLP. You wouldn't happen to have some photos of your vararam setup? Thanks!!

Total with parts and labor was about $420. The cutouts are from forum vendor QTP. I started with McCord cutouts but swapped in the QTPs when I had some problems with them. The quality of the QTPs is somewhat better.

The actual welded cutouts I had done at a local exhaust shop for ~$120. I installed the wiring and the rest of the hardware myself before and after. Below is a web page I did on the install. There are a couple of videos with sound at the bottom of the page.

Finish Line Performance, FLP, is a forum vendor. I bought the header system here on a GP when they first released them. Everything except the cats and clamps comes Jet-hot coated. The kit includes headers, hi-flo cats, off-road pipes, x-pipe, clamps and gaskets. Below is a pic.

AFA as my VaraRam install, the threads I posted on it haven't been ported over to the new software yet so I'll just post a few pics.

As Patches mentioned, the FLPs are not stainless- I've had my FLPs for about 2 years, and have at most 10K miles on them and have quite a bit of rust. The next time it goes on the lift, I'm hoping to treat it with some 1200 degree ceramic paint- but I don't know what good it will do since I don't think I can remove all the rust.

For that reason, I'll pay a few hundred more for the next set to make sure they are stainless.

Mines not a daily driver either- I have zero idea of why mine rusted. 2 years, 10k miles, stored winters, driven very little in the rain. I have not heard any other complaints like mine- so maybe its a fluke.

Bought my FLPs and have been very happy with them. Loud and great SOTP gains. They are Jet Hot coated so no issues with rust or discoloring. Bandit are your LTs coated or not? They shouldn't have rusted with the coating on them.
BTW Patches, excellent job on the cutouts.

Yes, all FLPs are coated, including mine- the rust is localized to a few areas and the only logical conclusion that I have is there was something wrong with the coating or something wrong with the process. I was the test car for FLP when they redesigned the bungs on the headers after getting user feedback. They gave me a VERY good deal on the headers and installed them free - even tuned my car for me...so its hard to complain. I just hope the rust doesn't kill my headers. That said- I'm sorta the only guy with this problem.

That's a clean install! I have always wanted to do electric cut-outs. I just like the idea of pulling up to a light with my quiet exhaust and then after the competition is committed uncorking them (I umm mean at the track light... yeah )

Thanks for taking the time to create the site pictures/media.
