Default Headers?

I am looking to buy a set of headers for my 01 C5. I want a good loud sound and the best performance/cost ratio. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thank You

My apologies, I did not run a search on the topic before posting. There are a lot of threads out already, but if you still want to give me some suggestions I thank you in advance.

Either the Dynatech, Kooks, or LG headers would be fine for your needs. Shop around and see who has the best deal. There is a GP on the Dynatechs for just over $1,300 (includes LT Headers, hi-flow cats, and x-pipe).

Dynatech have my vote...i love the sound...got 26-32 RWHP and RWTQ through out the whole RPM band...Call RevX and ask for Jason or Dan. They will take care of you.

I would go with the KOOK's. I had them installed on my 01 with 3" mid section and "x" pipe and High Flow cats. I have the Z06 Ti muffs and the sound is just what I wanted. If you want loud you may want Borla's or B&B. The long tube headers though will make your exhaust noticeably louder. The Kooks fit very well with no ground clearance issues. I have heard good things about TPIS and LG's as well.

There's also a GP going on in the C5 Parts For Sale Section on the LGM LT Headers.

You may also want to look at the Stainless Works setup. They don't seem to get a lot of press lately, but they are full stainless front to rear (Kooks is not) if that is important to you. They also keep all four O2 sensors (LG's do not) so you don't have to run SIMs.

I just had a set of Kooks installed and FLPs removed and there is a difference both in response to throttle and improved sound quality. I am providng this input in the interest of helping this forum member make a decision. I am not interested in who has the "better header dialog" that has frequented this forum. I am certain there are a lot of good one's available, so good luck with your choices.

I just installed a set of Swain Coated Spermaxx headers. The fit and sound is awsome.

You will get a million different responses, but the LG's and the Kooks seem to be the best power wise. I chose the LG's and love them.

After a little research I think I'll go with the Dynatech headers. I don't think I want the cats. Any suggestions on the cats as far as power and sound goes? Also, what can I expect to pay to get them installed? I'm in Pensacola, Fl right now and there is a corvette specialist called Leo's just up the road from me. Anyone ever heard of them???

Thanks

Go with Dynatechs, stainless steel and much cheaper than LGs. Got a set w/cats for $1245 from Corvette Central a month ago. Can't beat it. +40 HP Getting them coated because contrary to popular belief, stainless rusts, just slower and from the inside out. Also coating will keep them much cooler.

quick advice that will save you money!

make sure they are ceramic coated!
now alot of companies sell "coated headers" this is not ceramic it is usually a cheap plating that flakes off and looks good for about 5 months then craps out. Ceramic coating insulates the headers and keeps the heat from escaping to the engine compartment. It also keeps the headers from rusting and warping!

If you buy a set of LTs shoot me an email I will ceramic those bad boys inside and out for $188! This Includies all preping work, 3 yr warranty, and a limited lifetime rust warranty! Jet Hott charges $279 plus ship

so please email me
slimshaby@mindspring.com
I can ceramic coat whatever you need as well as powder coat and deep cryogenic process!
thanks alot your friend
