Car Stuck in Reverse

Backed my 98 6spd out of the driveway and it would not come out of reverse. Any ideas????

You might have a broken shift fork, you could have syncro problems, but I doubt it or maybe you linkage is jammed. What ever happened, you are off the the dealers.

This amazes me...Locked up tranny from backing out of the driveway! Its not like I jammed it into reverse or anything. I know the trannies had weak alum shift forks from 3rd to 4th but have heard nothing of a reverse problem.

Well got it loose by jacking the rear up till tires were off the ground then let clutch out and pulled on shifter. seems to work ok now.
