I'm on a road trip and the a/c decided to backup into the pass floor compartment. I managed to get the drain tube off, but it fell down somewhere between the engine and the frame/bellhousing area. Question:
Can i just leave it?
Will it drain fine w/o the hose?
I have no way of getting the car up right now, except for a mechanic shop or something.

Leaving the hose off for a day or two shouldn't hurt a thing. The only thing that would bug me would be the smell of burning rubber against the exhaust pipe underneath the car. Of course it might fall off onto the ground after you drive a short distance too.
I have had mine on/off a couple of times and twice have dropped it (like you did). Both times I laid down on my back and with my left hand reached up and around the top side of the exhaust pipe area underneath the car. Just kept fishing around until I felt it. Both times I found it sitting on top of my left side exhaust pipe. Needless to say the car was cooled off when I did this. HTH
Yea, if you drive with it laying someplace, don't count on finding it. If you do find it, your liable to find it melted.
On the 99, when I removed the hose it was clean as a whistle. The clog was actually in the housing itself. Compressed air took care of that issue.
Swell, that's one reason why I wanted to look at the hose. I guess I'll just run the a/c and see what happens. It did hit the BCM, but only the traction control wigged out. I haven't smelled anything melting yet. I might try and get to it tomorrow. Nothing like working on your car in a Holiday Inn parking lot. :mad

I had the car up in the air on a lift, had a nozzle gun and just held it there for roughly 10-15 seconds, when I pulled the nozzle away water just came pouring out. Did it three times, after the third no water was coming out.
Also, check your blower motor to see if rust has formed on the windings. It's held on by theree bolts and is easily accessible after removing the hush panel.
