have finally decided I don't have the funds, or an appetite for the risk, to do much road racing anymore in the C5, so I am likely going to be removing my DRM radiator/oil cooler in the next month or so.
I've got my stock radiator, which I have stored on my shelf for the past ~9 months.
My question is: do I need to do anything in particular to the stocker when I reinstall it - perhaps take it to a radiator shop and have it sonic cleaned (or whatever the process is), or should it be good to drop back in? I worry about corrosion - I'm not sure how the stock C5 radiator would be affected by that.
FWIW, we are in Colorado, and hardly *anything* rusts out here.
Just trying to get a feel for the best guidelines/safety/doublechecks to follow before putting the stocker back in.
Thanks for any advice, and yes, the DRM radiator/oil cooler/lines/plugs/filter adapter will be for sale after it is removed.
I would say if the radiator was stored in a clean place, and no mousies live in the tanks,, you will be fine, just flush it out with clean water and install it,, you might take a look inside with a light to see if corrosion is present, but I doubt it....If the radiator you have for sale had a built in trans cooer , plus the oil cooer, I am interested,,,,but I guess you car is a m6......let me know
Jake, sorry you're pulling out, but I totally understand the money aspect of your decision. Whenever you pull your radiator, I'll be interested. I already know your radiator will fit my car.
