stuck in park thread
My 98 auto is getting very difficult to shift out of park; getting stranded is imminent. I searched for threads/solutions but came up empty. Can someone direct me to previous threads and/or solutions?
As near as I can tell, it is the brake transmission shift interlock solenoid causing the problem. When wiggling the gearshift with the brake on, it will click in the console and free the gearshift lever. Has anyone replaced or removed the solenoid? Does this solve the problem and does it cause any codes?
