I just got some SLP long tubes off ebay. I know, i know, they are a b_tch to install. Why are they the only ones with "tuned length" headers? How are the plugs to get to after install? I know kooks and LG's are preferred, but I spent a lot less than that on the SLP's. I am open to all feedback & suggestions. Thanks, Scott
"tuned length" has to do with keeping the way the combustion leaves the cylinder and out the header.the idea is to keep all the cylinders pretty close to each other and help increase the scavange effect.this vary's with header length and design.
FWIW,if you just got headers and nothing else[x-pipe,cats,installation kits],you better go to slp's sight and get every thing else you need to install them.by the time you get everything you need though, the money you spent you were probably better off with the kooks[a much better header].JMO

i have slp lts, hpipe + hiflo cats . it was all bolt on with the slp header kit. couldn't use my magnaflow xpipe with it as there is no room from their cats to the magnaflow mufflers so the shop had to make 2 short pipes to join to the mufflers.i just changed the spark plugs and it was very easy to get at them with a short extension. the drivers rear plug is a real bear to get at but if you unbolt the air tube on the header andmove it out of the way , then its no problem.
