Default HVAC-Vacuum Control Assembly....(weak air flow)

Problem: When choosing a setting air still comes out all areas, ie. vents, floor, defrost vents when choosing JUST the vents. Therefore, the air flow is weaker.

The control of opening and closing of the vents on the C5 is done by vacuum. I have my manuals and have researched this. I have had some major mods to my car including a M6 conversion and I think possibly something happened, because since the conversion this has been happening. Possibly the source of the vacuum has been compromised somehow.

Is it possible to get to the "manifold vacuum port" (wording from manuals) that supplies vacuum to the "vacuum control assembly" (wording from manuals) without removing the dashboard?

Where is the "manifold vacuum port"? That is, source of vacuum for the HVAC system?

ANY input or ideas is greatly appreciated.

OK, read another thread about this same issue. The source of vacuum for the HVAC system is on the back of the manifold. How the hell do you tell which tube is the manifold vacuum for the HAVC system?

Where is the Blower Control Module located? Is it easy to get to?

Keith, you have to take off the lower, passenger side, plastic panel, that is below the glove box, and it should be up in there.

Here's what the service manual says:

BCM_page1

BCM_page2

BCM_page3

It sounds like your problem might be a loose vacuum line, and the easiest way to get to those is to take off the intake, and check the lines. You don't need to replace any gaskets, and it's not that hard to do. I'll be taking mine off Tuesday to put on the LS6 PCV system. Have a Great Weekend!

Right under the glove box, you pop off two plastic push doohickies(yes thats the technical term) and the panel under the glove box comes down. Be careful of the little light in the panel that is still attached. under there, you will see the blower motor and also a port with a number of colored vacuum tubes. The one running to the firewall is a brown one. It has a connector and I undid it and started sucking on it while the car was running. climate control started functioning correctly. Now can someone tell me where I find this stupid vacuum tube under the hood so I can fix this nitemare of a problem.

Thanks

I used a mechanics mirror to find the vacuum fitting on the back of the manifiold. It is a BITCH to get to, but it can be done. If it gives you too much of a fit, remove the manifold!

How big of a vaccum tube is it on the manifold? Pencil size? Diameter of a quarter?
