Default Gasoline leak help!

I have a 2001 C-5 and every once in a while I notice the smell of gas after i fill er up. I always figure it's overfilled and sure enough after i driver her a bit it goes away. Problem has gotten worse. I filled it up friday night because it was really low and it took 16.4 gallons, I thought it only had a 15 gal tank? I did not drive it again and noticed 2 days later there was a strong smell of gas in my garage and when I pulled the vette out, a puddle of gas on the floor. When I say puddle I mean about 2 cups. I parked in the driveway and cleaned up the mess and no more leak as far as I can tell. It has smelled gas before but this is the first time for a leak. I need to take it to the dealer but do not want to leave it overnight for ""Insprection and joy riding"" please give me some thoughts so I can be armed with some knowledge. veery dangerous problem. Thanks, Dave

I don't top off, I just let the handle click. I think maybe that still fills it too full. Why would the leak on the floor be located near the rear end section? Is there an overflow port nearby? Thanks

I had the same problem, it was the pass side gas tank. There is a gasket that only leaked when the tank was completly full. I also own a Mag 01. It was repaired under warranty, they replaced the whole tank.
