Geneus -sounds like you have an agenda? You don't even live in Houston.
No agenda...just advice. Remember, "he who cannot be advised, cannot be helped." I find it hard to believe that they (MTI) would be so out of line with their price for headers+install, especially in Houston, where prices on things tend to be less than here in the NE (if you don't believe me, lets just compare what my house costs here vs what the same house would cost in Houston...big difference ). I know what I paid here for my headers and install and it was a fair price.

BTW, I believe in another thread someone inquired what your install had cost at MTI.....

I PM'ed all who asked about price, but since you have a agenda. I paid $1850.00 plus tax on the parts. Included before and after dyno pulls and some minor LS1 edit work for me. The customer service was great and there shop is full of cars. Definatley not a sign of an unsucessful shop.

Further more you are correct about about housing costs. But you can not compare cost of living across the board. Cars are priced up there the same as here along with many other expenses.

Well, that is a very fair price indeed. But it sounds quite different than what was quoted to another person earlier in the thread. If your price included LS1 Edit tuning + dyno runs, then I admit my error and give MTI .

Blazeone im not knocking MTI at all they are very good at what they do. But i too went to MTI back in 97-98 and there customer service was bad. There are alot of options here in Houston. MTI is on my list because im sure it will get done right the first time. You say you paid 1850.00 even with minor computer work them why did they quote me more? You say they took you home did they tell you they could finish it in 1 day just wondering if i need to have someone pick me up if i go w/ them.

97-98 was 6-7 years ago. Regarding my price, maybe they are running special now? I don't recall the specifics but it really doesn't matter what they did for me, it's what they'll do for you.You might want to at least drop by or give them a call. I'm sure that if you tell them what you want and your budget they will work with you.

I dropped my car off at 4:30PM. David gave me a ride home. The tech stayed and installed the headers that night. I got a friend to drop me off at MTI the next morning. The install was complete and we put it on the dyno and ran it and did the pcm work. That's it, game over. The Kooks rock and I checked for codes today and I have none. What end of town do you live in? if all you need is a ride, i might be able to help. All is good in LT land.
