Can't get mn6 to shift into reverse...help!
Just had new clutch put in and car went into reverse when I first drove it. Had a little problem getting it into 5th gear, (meaning it grinded a little as if it were headed to reverse instead of 5th). Is there a lock out for reverse on the C5? Took car back to shop that did the work because the speedometer was not working than it would not go into reverse. Any thoughts...the mechanic who worked on it will be in tommorow but I am interested now! Is there a simple explanation for this? I assume the speedometer not working was something was just not hooked up.....

The clutch may not be totally disengaging. Such an occurance will make it difficult if not impossible to shift into certain gears. Take it back to the mechanic that installed the clutch!

There is an electrical lock-out for reverse, it is speed related. If you speedometer doesn't work (probably due to sensor not connected), I can see how your reverse lockout might not unlock.
