Default Yes, another CLB question ??

I will be picking up a 2000 FRC MN6 next week and had some concerns about the CLB issue. I called a forum vendor that is located in my area about doing the install. He said that he could not do the work because of the liability issue. OK, I understand this, but I was also told that there is a new GM Column Lock recall that is to be issued very soon. I called a local dealer and was told that there is a current recall for my vehicle that is supposed to fix the problem. Now to the question, is this the same recall with the same non-fix that has been mentioned or is this something new? I was under the impression that this was a new recall with a new fix. I hope that this is not too redundant but the whole issue has become more confusing the more that I read about it.

Thanks,
Kevin

No one I have read about has been recalled so far. I'm sure that some have but not many. It is a patch not a fix. Hope this helps.

The Generals idea of a fix for the problem with a column lock up, does nothing to stop or free up a locked column, it still will fail. What it does do is when the column lock fail it cuts off the fuel to the car so it can not be driven. What that leaves you with is a locked column and the car will not start. To me that is not a fix it is a (insert four letter F word) without a kiss. It has been said many times, but I will repeat it, get the CLB and be done with the problem.
