Default p0171 code and p0174 code

its a fuel trim system lean bank 1b and 2b

i havent done any mods and i just bougth the car 1.5 months ago

i do hear a whistling sound that is irregular occasionally
the car came witha k&n twin filter

Sounds like your gas cap is loose. I've had the p0171 code a few times and every time my gas cap was barely on.

Is your car a '98 vert as your sig suggests? If so, check the front of the MAF. If there is no screen covering the opening, that could also cause the problem. The former owner may have pulled the screen.

P0171 is a loose gas cap 99% of the time. Don't know about the other one.

0171 is a left bank lean and 0174 is a right bank lean
they may be mixed but that is what they are
as in one isthe left 4 cylinders and one is the right 4 cylinders
as far as the screen goes ....yea its gone
do i need to put one in?
