I have been a member of this forum for a month. I never knew that I would learn so much! Thanks all. My next mod on my 2001 A4 will be new gears in the rear and a torque converter. I understand the gear choices. I need some info on how to select the correct t/c. Is there a good web site where I can learn more about how they function so I can make the best choice? Thanks
Checkout the Yank Converter web site, there is tons of useful info on that web site. Also as Face suggested do a search on this forum about converters. What are your goals for your car,if you're sure what your goals are you can narrow down the number of suitable converters?
At this time I don't plan alot of major upgrades. I have upgraded the intake and I am putting on a new exhaust this month. I don't plan on racing the the car but I would like to have fun when the light turns green!! I checked out the Yank site and I am still alittle unsure about stall info and it's effect on the way the car drives.

I searched for months rode in cars even purchased a TC and changed my mind before installing. I wound up with 3.73 gears and SS 3200, at first I thought it was too much TC until I tuned and removed Torque Management that was one happy day and been ever since.
My best advice is ride in one, not sure where you are but you are welcome to ride and drive in mine.

If you still can't make your mind up, try www.vincihighperformance.com I've dealt with them and the've always been on the mark with technical information. Torque converters and torque management is one of the things Vinci excels at. Gary
