Educate me please on Torque Convertor!!
Can someone explain what is a functionality of a torque convertor and all the numbers such as 2800 or 3200 behind it? And locking & unlocking. Thanks. Simply what does it do to C5?

OK, here goes. A torque convertor is just that. It is a type of fluid turbine which at low engine rpm acts as a clutch allowing the engine to idle and not move. As the engine is accelerated, the fluid is directed by vanes which increase torque and allow the car to move. At higher speeds modern automatics have a lock up provision which allows direct connection to the engine like a standard shift tranny. The numbers 2800 & 3200 represent the stall speed or the speed at which the convertor is at full torque. These numbers are higher than a stock convertor so that modified engines with high performance cams etc. can produce more power before launching at the drag strip.
