Emergency Fuel Door Release
We have a 2000 convertible. I pulled the release
cable to open the fuel door and ended with the
cable in my hand. The cable is 10 inches long
with a small metal **** on the end, the other
end is the plastic handle.
Did this break off or just disconnect from the
latch, and how do you access the latch to
repair this ?
Did anyone else experience this ?

Where is the romote switch located. I assume it is in the trunk
around the wheelwell on the drivers side.
I cannot find it, and am not able to climb into the trunk for
a visual inspection, cannot find it by just feeling around.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

this has not happened to me.
But, since your car is probably out of waranty, I would start by removing the black plastic around the filler neck and see if you can gain access to the door mechanism from there. If not it will be much more laborious to repair this.
