Just installed the Hurst short throw shifter in my vette today. Thanks to Patches' write up, the install went fairly smooth. Took me 2.5 hours from start to finish. It was fairly easy, but a little challenging with the deamon key. shifter feels nice and firm. Springs are stiff but ive read it will wear down some after a few hundred miles. I used some teflon tape on the threads in attempt to silence the rattle that the **** gives off.
Havent test drove it yet, since my front wheel is off for repair. Here are some pics I took during install.
This will be a blast to drive now. Cant wait

Kick ***! How hard did you find the install? It seems to me that the hardest part is just removing all the different panels, etc., but that the actual install of the shifter is pretty straighforward. I'm going to be installing one of these shortly myself and I'm just doing a little "mental preparation" beforehand. Any tips would be certainly welcome.
Basement, yes the interior panels will take time coz you dont want to yank it hard and break something. I took my time and sowly pulled off the panels and trim.
The only tip I have is with the deamon key, forget vise grip method, doesnt hold. Just use a flat head screw driver to pry it off. Use easy slow gradual force and it will budge, dont try to pop it off fast or else youll just keep chipping the key. Good luck!
I love mine, it truly adds to the driving experience!!!!!! Just take your time and it is pretty simple. I also agree; the instructions that Patches posted where great!!!!!! This is one of the things that makes this forum GREAT(all the info).
