I am looking to replace my timing chain with a stronger chain. But I don't want to have to shim out the oil pump or have the front pulley machined. I want a bolt on replacement that is stronger. Is the LS6 chain stronger?

I have a Rollmaster double rooler timing chain and it DOES require shims, but they are included in the kit. I can say for sure that this setup is much stronger than the OEM chain. Installing the shims take only a minute longer and does not require any other work on the pulley or cover.
Have you looked at the JWIS timing chain? Thunder Racing has them. They are supposedly for a C5R and much stronger than a stock chain, and you don't need to install a new timing set, or shim and cut anything.
The Rollmaster double roller timing set is simply the best there is. Billet steel gears and a chain so beefy it makes the stock one look like it is made out of paper clips for under $100. For $20 more you can get one with a heat treated chain and a Torrington bearing on the cam gear
The oil pump spacers are a no-brainer to install and as far as machining the pulley goes, some have done it but Andy at A&A Corvette has never had to.
Even if you feel it is necessary to machine the pulley, it is a small hassle compared to the knowledge that you have the best and most bullet proof timing set there is

I have the JWIS chain and regularly (every time the car is started ) take mine to 7600RPM. It is holding up through about 40 runs so far. I am going to put the GM chain tensioner in the next time I take the water pump off though.
I found that the Rollmaster actually had a clearance problem on the back between the chain and crankshaft on my car. It would normally be fairly difficult to notice. I recently tore down a customer's motor with that setup on and found his was rubbing on the crank the whole time as well. It actually wore a spot on the chain and crankshaft. There were no clearance issues on an aftermarket forged crank though.

Thanks for the info. I called them up and ordered one! That is exactly what I was looking for.
