Default Few things regarding LS2

Looks like we can use the intake and throttlebody.

LS2 heads are the same as those on an '01 (375hp) LS6. Note that they use the shorter, solid-stem valves rather than '02-'04 (405hp) LS6's exotic, longer, hollow-stem intake valve and sodium-potassium("NaK")-filled, hollow-stem exhaust valve. Because the LS2 camshaft is less aggressive, lighter valves are unnecessary to keep the valve train stable all the way to LS2's 6600-rpm rev limiter. The rest of the LS2 valve gear is also the same as '01 LS6.
The cam in the LS2 is similar to the '01 LS6 cam. It uses the same profile but the part number is new because the cam position sensor target was moved from the cam to the camshaft sprocket. Valve lift is .525-in. and duration at .050-in lift is 204o int/211o exh.

Those are for DoD (I think also known as Displacement on Demand) lifters which the LS2 will not use.

One of the keys to whether the intake manifold will fit is if the deck height of the LS2 block is the same the LS1. Sometimes manufacturers will change the deck height when changing the stroke.

Considering they didnt change the stroke - I doubt it.

It's just a 4" bore block, just like the 6.0 iron blocks in the trucks.

Is there a thread that discusses the difference between LS6 and LS2 in-depth? How much more desireable is the LS2 over the LS6?

I am planning for a change from my C5 A4 convertible to an C5 M6 coupe, and plan to transplant the supercharged forged LS6 engine when I do this. I'm curious to know if a C6 coupe would be a good candidate for the LS6.

The ls2 is using the 85mm MAF, it looks from the pic they put the screen back on--they do have a new PCM that includes TPS so it want be a seperate throttle position sensor--the 4" bore is a perfect candidate for a 4" stroke for a nice square motor 402 cubic inch--the c6 also has an improved m6 tranny with improved syncro's that shorten the throw by an inch and shift smoother or so they claim--I am very interested in the pcv system that is suppose to be far superior which we all need--

I switched over to the LS6 system which was pretty much a waste of time

I heard the benchmark for the C6 shifter was the Miata. Say what you may about Miata's, but those shifters are soo easy to use. It's light, it's not notchy, and you can feel the gears thru the shifter much more than you can in an M6...which is pretty important for rev matching, and vital for clutchless shifting...at least it is for me. I can clutchless shift in my CRX all day, but can't do it in my C5 since I can't feel a damn thing thru the shifter.

I'm interesting in the PCV system as well. I was going to go with the latest LS6 system, but still haven't heard about any positive results yet. In the meantime I'm using a catch can. The extra power from an LS2 intake won't be soo bad either.
