4.10's Back in the day, I had 4.10's in my GTO & highway driving was NOT an option! How is the Vette on the highway ?? I'm eventually doing gears/headers on my 03 & am very interested & hearing more about your experiences.

I too would also be worried about highway driving.
a little update....the car drives like stock unless you have your foot in it...the shift points were changed [lowered] and it does go through the gears quickly...however someone who never drove the car would not notice under normal driving ...
getting on the throttle is a little bit different...punch it and hold on!!
first gear doesnt last long...have to modulate throttle to control wheel spin...
second comes fast and also has to be throttled ...has nice long hard acceleration....feels real good
third pulls strong......
havent had any fourth high speed runs yet..
car sounds great....no problem with the higher rpms from the 4.10 ratio...actually sounds more like corvette should!!!
i feel it was worth waiting for the 4.10s.....wish 4.56 was available...
if you are considering ratio change on a4 go for the 4.10s
it makes for awesome acceleration and very fun car to drive....just what a corvette should be
I'd also watch kick downs (down shifts done automatically) ; you'll find your rear going sideways
thats the truth...have been working on autocross tune only for the trans....
my original goal was to use second only... due to the fact that 1-2 shifts that occured with my front wheels anything but straight were an instant spin...[ that was with 3.15s]
i am thinking i can modify shift tables to be able to leave in drive and have 1st gear take off with programed shift to second and then stay in second except for extreme conditions... [ really slow or really fast section of course] .. at which point the trans would make programed shift to 1 or 3....
