Default ***Remote FOB Problems?***

Hi,

I have recently been experiencing problems with each of my 3 remote keyFOB's after receiving my Vette back from my mechanic. Here's the scoop:

INFO:
All three have fine batteries, circuitry, passive OFF and worked fine before taking my Vette to the mechanic.

I had my tires/sensors installed onto new rims and pressures read on the DIC fine.

I have programmed each of them seperately and in tandem by standing outside the car and holding lck/unlck simultaneously until the horn beeps, as well as programming each through the DIC Options / FOB Training, as per the manual.

PROBLEM:
Each of the remotes work fine when leaving the car, but upon nearing it, the doors unlock as if I had Passive On, which I never do. Intermittently, each remote may not work at all, forcing me to reprogram as above all over again.

In addition, I have specifically left 2 of the 3 remotes nowhere near me while approaching the car, in the event that they might be conflicting with one another.

ISSUE:
My mechanic states that the sensors are not in need of relearning either through the DIC or with that "tuning fork tool," and since they have displayed readings on the DIC, they are not the culprit.

I am very skeptical about this assessment, since I know that the remotes are fine, work off of the sensors, which had been removed/reinstalled and the remotes worked prior to my recent visit.

Any insight, experiences or helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx!

Mine did the same thing for about 3 months straight and I had to constanly switch back and forth cause they would stop working all together sometimes. It's been fine for about a year now and I have no idea what the hell was going on. Hope someone knows.

My son's 99 main fob he used for years no longer will stay working. He started using the "spare" one now. Both will train fine and the "old" one will work once then won't work again. Guess the inside is just wore out? Must be soemthing like that as I see alot of owners are having similiar problems with a fob.

Thanx for the repsonses.

I guess they can be sort of temperamental, but I still find it very curious that all 3 just started malfunctioning after I just had my tire sensors reinstalled, especially after I have reprogrammed them on the DIC in the past successfully.

If anyone has a "fix" or additional advice, as always, it'd be greatly appreciated.
