OK, hope this gets some answers...
I bought a used C5. Love It!, but it only came with one key. Does anyone know if there is a way to see if extra key's were ever made for this car?

You can get another one cut by a dealer (expensive) or a
locksmith. You need to know the vats code (restance) and
probably supply a blank (if you are not at a dealer). Ecklers
and others have blanks. I suspect Ebay does also. Usually
you can find remotes on Ebay also. Just make sure you get the
right part number.
go to the dealer and they will check the vats code (chip on side of key),b thru z, i think then go buy a blank off e bay. then go back to the dealer and the'll cut it for free

Unfortunately the keys are available lots of places, and most locksmiths can cut the keys. As mentioned, the keys are coded based on a resistance chip, but assuming that you get the right resistance, you can have an unlimited number of keys made.
As an aside, there are other manufacturers who's keys actually have a "chip" in them that has to be programmed into (or cleared out of) the car. Lots of Fords have these keys and they cost over $100 for the key and programming (UGH).
You can usually get the blank keys with the resistor pellet on eBay for about $25, then take the blank to your local hardware store to have it cut for $1. You just have to know the VATS code for your current key so you get the right blank. Find out the code by taking it to a dealer and paying for it , or use an ohm meter to check the resistance of the pellet yourself for free
Here are the code numbers that go with each resistance.
Thank You, that in itself seems to be a big secret when buying a used car, but one would think a previous vett owner wouldn't mind the contact...
A friend of mine had his car taken away (he lost his job), it was sold at auction. The new owner found his information in the owners manual. He called my friend the 1st and previous owner up. He wanted to ask him if it was ever in an accident, and yes it was. My buddy wrecked it on the track caused over 30 grand in damages and the incsurance company payed for it. He told the new owner about all this the car was repaired and they did a fine job on the work. And the new owner was very happy with it. Thats my story well my friends actually..

I seem to remember if you give your vin # to the dealer he can tell you the resistance code. Then instead of paying their $40 order the key from ecklers for $15 plus frt & handling which bumped mine upto $27.50. Then the hardware store cut it for $1.50 +tax. They told me before they cut it that there was a posibility it wouldnt work but I had no problems. Not a tremendous savings but $10 is $10 saved for something else.
