What is the difference between the 2 models and will the '04 version work on a '97?

Thanks in advance

i think on the 2001-2004 halltech stinger systems there's 2 holes in the air duck, i think there's extra sensor on the newer cars. there made for years 97-00 part # w1010 and 01-04 part #w1009. do a search remember seeing it somewhare what the differance is...........

01/newer cars have a larger dia MAF sensor.

The older cars also do have a hole in the airbridge (or should) for the IAT sensor, which could easily be drilled (the late model cars have no holes in the duct)...but the MAF size difference makes an easy conversion not so easy.

It is possible to update to the larger late model MAF sensor with some wiring modifications, I think this procedure is detailed on http://www.ls1howto.com
