Why not just build the motor you have? Heads and Cam would make your car scream.

Default Ls-6

Just finished installing stock Z-06 in 97 coupe. Used existing headers, absolutely no problems at all. Of course I'm going to have to get an LS-1 edit to reprogram computer so I can get the higher RPM and fine tune the computer to fit my car.
What class are you talking about? I autocross my car and plan on racing SCCA soon. So I'm most interested in class your building for.Chuck

It must be T1 class. Rules mandate using stock LS6 engines.

Really not worth the cost IMO. Your going to end up spending $3K+ ( if you aren't a DIY'er ) and end up having a car with an extra 20 hp.

I'd give www.gmpartsdirect.com and Scoggins/Dickey (http://www.sdpc2000.com/) a try, I think both of them have a conversion kit for around $2,200 or so.

That said, check to make sure that LS6 parts on an LS1 block are legal. I know that for SCCA's ASP class, such a conversion would *not* be legal, but perhaps for your rules it is.
