1999 C5 Active handling error code
Anyone ever have an active handling error 1287? Any clue how to fix it? It looks like the steering position sensor. I tried to reset it, and it came back, so it's not a ghost.
I kind of hate to bring it to the dealer, so if anybody knows of a good Corvette shop in the Annapolis Maryland area, I'd appreciate it!

It sounds like the steering position sensor needs to be replaced, and that's not easy. There are a couple older threads you can search for here that will show you how to do it yourself, but you need to be a decent mechanic. It requires the removal of the entire steering column, as the sensor is a ring around the bottom of the column. I just lived with my error message until I sold the car...
