Winking HeadLight Issue
Hi there everyone! I have a question about the winking headlight problem. When you turn the headlights on the left stays down and the right comes up and on. Then when you turn them off they both go down then the left one comes back up. I manually turned the headlight down so I don't look crazy driving my car with a winking eye!! I have searched the site for any info that can help me, because I would like to fix it myself if at all possible. I just need complete directions on exactly what to do. If anyone out there can help, it would be greatly appreciated!!!

you may have a bad headlight motor gear. The gears are made of nylon and will sooner or later break a tooth. I replaced the gears in my headlight motors with brass gears. Got them at http://www.rodneydickman.com/retail.html

Thanks for your help. Anyone else out there have any more info for me...I really don't want to take this to the dealership to have this fixed! Dealership trips never turn out too well!!

Oliver Sudden is probably incorrect on this one, although what he describes was a very common C4 problem. I had exactly what you are experiencing, and it is a very common C5 problem. Check out this thread as it gives you the TSB and everything. All you need is some washers and to move some of the plastic stops. You can fix it yourself in no time:
