You'll have to get a NYS inspection sticker within 10 days of registering your car. If the car has no mods, then you'll be fine. If it does, you need to check the DIC to see if you're throwing codes (emissions codes) before you bring it to be inspected. The computer only checks for codes on the OBD II hookup, no tail pipe sniffer.

I think the general (GM) figures not all cars stay in the same state where purchased. I bought my family van in NJ, and it passes NY inspection fine. On my Y2K C5, Stock it passed inspection, but when I added all my bolt on's it failed on the first run. I only had about 500 miles on my bolt ons and the garage I went to told me I needed to heat up the high flow cats more before the next inspection. next year Ill be sideways into their parking lot
