Alignment / Steering Wheel Shake
Recently I changed to a new set of rims / tires and noticed at speeds 60-75 mph, the steering wheel would shake. I took it in for a 4 wheel alignment (125 bucks..) a couple of days ago, but it didnt seem to help much at all. I know that when you change rims and tires you need to get an alignment.
My question is this... If I tell the shop to check if my tires are balanced (pretty sure they have the Hunter machine), do i need to redo my alignment after they check the tire balance? I dont want to spend another 125 dollars if I dont have to. As a general rule, should you have an alignment everytime you take off your wheels?
Thanks

What he said.In general, anytime a steering wheel shakes or vibrates between
a range of speeds, you can bet a front wheel in not balanced.
Conversely, the car would feel as though it is being shifted side to side
and low speeds (crawling) if a rear wheel in not balanced.
Balancing should always be done before alignment.
