Default Low Oil Pressure

I'm running 18-22 psi at warm idle and 26-30 psi at 1500 rpm in my '03 Z06. This is about 10 psi below friends in their LS1's at all rpm ranges. The oil has been analysed and was found to have an abnormal amount of aluminum. 'Low Oil Pressure' did appear on the DIC once in heavy traffic on a very hot day before I changed oil and filter from a UPF-44 back to the UPF-44 (46), it had dropped to 12 psi.

Does anyone know what substance the oil pump is made of i.e. housing, and gears? Could the aluminum be from the oil pump? Has anyone had similar problems. Suggestions please.

Thanks.
