The weirdest thing happen to me today when i started the car, the act/tracn. light came on and the measege "active handling warming up"
came on for a minute or so and then it said "warm up complete" Anybody seen that before? What does it mean? lol, does the active handeling have its own engine?
the AH goes through a calibration process at every startup. The accelerometer sensors (AKA "Yaw rate sensors") need to see a few seconds of straight driving to recalibrate properely. If you start right out with the steering wheel turned, or you immediately take a sharp turn just after moving, the sensors can not calibrate right then in that condition. So, the system delays the calibration for a short period... hoping that the driver will eventually drive straight for a few yards or so (I don't know the actual minimum distance of straight driving needed). During this delay, the message "Warming Up" appears to let you know the AH is currently inoperative.
Why GM used the word "Warming" is a mystery... as it has nothing to do with temperature.

It's completely normal, and is explained in the owner's manual as being normal..and no, it has nothing to do with temperature.
It usually occurs when you start the car, and make a lot of slow, tight turns, such as when exiting a parking garage.
Nothing to worry about, unless the 'warm up complete" message never appears. If that's the case, you should see a "service active handling" message appear, and probably many others along with it.
