Previous owner claimed to have had ecu tuned for nitrous and to eliminate skip shift. Since recent battery issues and the subsequent loss of power to the ECU skip shift is back. Did I lose the custom programming?
I don't see how. Cags is under PCM control and that can be programmed out with LS1Edit or a skip shift eliminator. Tuning is under PCM control. The PCM tables are flash memory and do not lose their values when power is removed. There are some values that go to a default when power is retored, i.e. a reset, but I don't think CAGS is one of them. I have removed my battery many times and nothing changes when I do. At least CAGS hasn't returned.
CAGS is part of a table that uses temperature settings to enable or disable it. I think the default is 174* coolant temp. See when CAGS starts flashing. If it is around that coolant temp, then your CAGS setting has reverted back to stock.
